Hello. I was diagnosed T2d in October with a Hba of 62, with diet, exercise and metformin twice daily I am now 38lbs lighter and have a Hba of 41. So yes I'm hoping I'm on the right path.
I went to my Desmond day today and left my comments on the day both good and bad as I think there could be some improvements on the day if I'm honest. However I do have a carb question. They mentioned each 3g of carbohydrates is one cube of sugar and although the ladies sandwich behind me said it was 45g carbohydrates with 1g sugar they said it was actually 15 sugar cubes! So at home I looked at one slice medium granary bread and my son's fully loaded creme brûlée and it appears that by their reckoning the slice of bread with 1.2g sugar has more sugar cubes than the 16g sugar sweet pudding based on the carbs! Now I know I'm not a dietician but is this really true and how we are then supposed to look at sugars?
I think by my results I am on the right path for me and I will continue this way but I'd love to know a clearer definition.
Thank you
Debra
