Relationship to Diabetes

Hello, my name is Rebekah. I live in Manchester and have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes since Feb 2010. I would love some people to talk to who also suffer with diabetes, i dont know anyone who suffers with it so i feel im on my own alot of the time! :(
It would be so nice to hear some of your guys stories and hopefully make some new friends..please get in touch, looking forward to hearing from you! Beks..:D

Feels good knowing we are all in this together! hehe..How long have you been diagnosed? Hope you are well.:D
 
Hi Rebekah, welcome to the forum 🙂 You've come to the right place! Lots of friendly and experienced people here who can help with any questions you may have, or if you just want to let off a bit of steam then you're amongst people who will understand where you are coming from 😉

How have things been for you over the past year? What insulin regime are you on?

Anything you are unsure of or concerned about, please ask - nothing is considered 'silly'! 🙂

Hi hun no problems i have been diagnosed 2 years next month x
 
Hi Rebekah, glad you found us. Hope we can be some help to you. There are some great people on here so don't hesitate to get involved and join in any of the discussions. I've been diagnosed since I was 11 - that's 33 years 😱

It's a good thing to get to speak to other diabetics as early as poss. Most of us on here were in the diabetic wilderness until we came across this forum.

Hiya Beks,

Welcome to the forum. I've had type 1 diabetes since March 2010, and also sometimes feel very much alone with it -- no one in the family has diabetes, and even after starting university in September, everyone seems to have a fully functioning pancreas!! This place is a god-send. It's nice to come online and know that you're not alone 🙂 I'm still learning a lot about diabetes, but I'll advise where possible. Feel free to get in touch!!

Hi Rebecca, I became type 1 diabetic in May 2010. I've just received my first appointment with the disabetic centre at my local hospital (on the 20th). Not sure what I would have done over the last few months without the help and advice received on here. Welcome and don't be afraid to ask anything you will always find someone who's experienced something similar.

Its also worth using the search function to review older threads for information.
