Hello everyone

Hello Ruth @Swingometer, Welcome to the Forum. If you'd like to tell us a little more, such as MDI or pump; what insulins? I'm sure someone from the T1 community will be along soon. It's a friendly place here.

Hi @Swingometer and welcome to the forum - I'm only a couple of years into my Type 1 Diabetes Journey and also feel like a newbie sometimes too! Feel free to share as much information regarding your diabetes as you feel comfortable with and if you have any questions please fire away - nothing is considered "silly" here - glad you have found us 🙂

Hi Ruth @Swingometer and a very warm welcome from me too 🙂 . I'm part of the T1 community and have been managing Diabetes for many years but only recently joined the Forum; wish I had done it earlier as you certainly don't feel alone. There are lots of friendly members here so just ask away with any questions.

Hi Ruth and welcome to the forum!
As others have already mentioned - ask and share away on different topics where you feel comfortable or simply lurk reading on what interests you. Everyone's a friendly bunch so don't be discouraged to raise questions - there's always someone who has an answer <3

Hi from me too - the most important thing about being someone with diabetes of any kind, sort or description is to never stop asking questions however long or short a time you happen to have had it. Good grief - I'm still needing to ask stuff after 53 years hence from my personal perspective you definitely are still a newbie, anyway! 🙂 😎😉

Hi Ruth and welcome from me too.

So pleased you have found the forum as it has been an invaluable source of support and information and practical experience for me. Being able to compare notes with others and know that you are not alone in finding certain aspects difficult or challenging and reading how others overcome those issues can be really comforting as well as helpful. I hope you find being a member of this community as beneficial as I have. Feel free to ask any questions you have or have a rant/moan about the difficulty or unfairness of it all. I think having a place like this where people truly "get it" can be really useful even though we may have very supportive and sympathetic family and friends. Only others who face the same challenges can really comprehend how tricky and frustrating and fickle diabetes can sometimes be and how much "bandwidth" it can sometimes take up in your mind, having to juggle so many variables that affect our BG levels.
