Hiya forum 🙂

I was diagnosed with type 2 over two years ago, but tbh I've not really come to terms with it properly...

Looking forward to having a 'place' to come to where people DON'T spend all their time saying 'you can't eat that can you? '

Hi Naty, welcome to the forum 🙂 Are you on any medication for your diabetes? Are you able to monitor your levels with a meter? It's a good idea to start a food diary, noting in particular the carbohydrate in everything you eat and drink. This will give you a good overview and help you to find areas where you might make better substitutions whilst still remaining flexibility in your diet. Have a read of Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter for starters, and I'd also recommend getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker - even though it's not your frst year, I think you will find it a very useful read 🙂

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, join in where you wish, and you're also welcome to have a good old rant or moan if you wish! I look forward to hearing more from you 🙂

Hi Naty and welcome 🙂

How do you manage your diabetes? Are you taking any meds? Do ask any questions you have on your mind, and hope you find inspiration here! 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I am on metformin slow release (normal release made me sick :() - two of them and two gliclazide a day. I have loads of questions but just by mooching here I've seen things discussed which no one had told me before - like how your levels can be high in the morning because of your body putting its own 'spike' in - that's definitely me!

Welcome to the forum Naty 🙂
