Hi everyone,

New to this game, just been diagnosed about 2 weeks ago and not getting to grips with it at all healthy eating wise to be honest. But willing to try. Got supporting family so should be ok!

Xx😛

Welcome to the forum & make yourself at home.

I have only been diagnosed a month and this site has been fantastic. People are friendly and very helpful 🙂 It helps having people who understand what you need to do and what is going on, to talk to.

Thank you, sometimes I'm not sure that everyone understands the predicaments that I am having to face ( although they try) so having people to talk to with similar issues will be helpful! Xx

Hi Ejstonier, welcome to the forum 🙂 How did you come to be diagnosed? Are you on any medication for your diabetes? Don't worry, it will take time as for many people it means big changes, but the good news is that it can be controlled well and often people feel much happier and healthier once they have got to grips with it than they have felt for some time 🙂

I would suggest reading Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter in order to get a good idea of what it is all about and how to go about tackling it. Also, I would recommend getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker, which many of our members have found immensely helpful.

Please join in wherever you wish, and ask any questions you may have - no question is considered 'silly'. It can be very confusing at times, but you have the experiences of lots of lovely, friendly and knowledgeable people here who will be happy to help out 🙂 I look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum, only lately joined myself and people have been very welcoming 🙂

A warm welcome from me! :D

It is good that you have a supportive family as that will help you so much!

Hi Ejstonier
Welcome, I'm quite new too and have found the forums fantastically useful. I think it's hard for people to understand how it all feels, so it's brilliant to have access to people who do. Hope you find the boards useful. 🙂

Welcome to the forum Ejstonier 🙂
