Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello my name is Dave I have type two diabetes which is controlled by insulin and tablets. I was diagnosed in October 1997 and immediately went into denial, but have since come to terms with it.

One point I would like to make it registration on this site is simple up to the need for some captcha pictures, I also think they need to be fairly clear - particularly on a site that may well have people with vision problems. I had to enter the captcha image three times before getting it right, and my eye is not too bad!

Moan over I look forward to check the site out and hopefully meeting new people!

Hi Dave, and welcome!

I know what you mean about those captcha things, my eyesight's not bad but I always struggle with them. I think they had to be put into the registration to deter spambots.

HI Notherner and thanks for the welcome! I know the captcha images are needed in this day and age (unfortunatley), its just that a lot of them (not only this site) are so difficult to read. I note that some have an audio version on click, which is fine if you have a dead quiet room and an amplifier! Oh well I am registered now so no real harm done (apart from my BP of course)

Hi Dave and welcome to the site. I too was in denial when I was diagnosed as Type 2 - I'm the one who walked round Tesco for 3 days crying over packets saying, I can't eat that, that or that!

I too had trouble with the registration using the captcha thingys, and I have fairly good eyesight. A friend of mine in IT says the captcha text means a human has to enter the details, as computers can't ready the little beggers!
