Hi Mary and welcome.

It is good that your propensity for diabetes has been picked up early before you crossed the line and hopefully a few simple lifestyle changes will help your body to cope better and push your levels back into the normal range.

Would you like to tell us a bit about how you came to find out you are at risk of diabetes? I am guessing possibly a routine blood test? Do you have much/any weight to lose?

What sort of information are you looking for? General info on diabetes?... Dietary advice? ... Testing?

Feel free to ask any questions you have or just read around the forum to gain a better understanding, if you prefer to do that. Be aware that diabetes can be highly individual so what works for one person may not work so well for another. Finding what works for you as an individual is key to good Blood Glucose (BG) management. The wonderful thing about the forum is that there are a number of approaches documented which you can try and see what suits you and your body best.

Welcome to the forum @mary5

You may be able to refer yourself for extra help and support to delay or avoid a diagnosis with diabetes. Diabetes UK has a ‘know your risk’ tool linked below which can help you understand your level of risk.

Many people who arrive on the forum having been told they are at risk find it very successful to just begin making changes to their menu and getting more active as if they had already been given a diagnosis with T2.

There is a host of information in the Learning Zone too - look for the orange tab in the main menu 🙂

Good Afternoon @mary5, I hope you are well and welcome to the forum! As others have commented here, the learning zone can be a great start to understanding diabetes and ways to reduce your risk. If you had any particular questions, please do feel free to fire away and we'll gladly help where we can. All the best and take care
