Type 2
I've recently been diagnosed with Type 2 had a reading of 104 off blood tests and now on 2 metformin per day.
it's is confusing got a meter and test high atm. 8.8 has been my lowest and 17.8 my highest last night.
am I to avoid all carbs or just the ones with high sugars. I'm trying to do this atm.
thanks

Welcome.
All carbs are broken down by the body to sugars. You need to test before meals and 2 hours afterwards to what foods do to you. We are all differnt with what we can tolerate.

Welcome to the forum. I was very high when diagnosed but by avoiding mainly potatoes, pasta, rice and bread I've managed to get down to decent levels. I test regularly to see what I can tolerate carb wise.

Well its what I'm trying to achieve atm it's new so only time will tell really.
thank you

I'm only just under 2 months into dealing with diabetes and I found it useful to give myself realistic targets so first to get into single figures, then to be in single figures all day. I found great encouragement on this forum when I posted with questions and testing results.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Welcome. It's a big learning curve with diabetes, but we are all here to help with any questions you have.🙂

Welcome, I am newly diagnosed, my meter has arrived today so today will be my first time testing, it was high when the docs tested. I have bought myself lots of fresh fish, meat and veges for this week.
