hello every1, im a 29yr old diabetic and i have been type1 for 9 years. any1 got any good info to keep my levels consistant?? i have tried everything my consultant has told me but i still get bad results on hba1c's and the likes. i have tried I.C.E ( insulin carbs exchange) but it didnt work.

Have you tried any of the carb counting (plus more) courses such as dafne. I found it really useful to really go back to basics of everything, I did the course nearly two years ago and my a1cs have been much better since, still not perfect but I'm working on it!
A lot of people swear by a low carb diet, it's not something that really works for me personally but I do try to go low GI and find that really helps to keep my levels steady. Is it just your hba1cs that are giving you hassle or are you day to day numbers a problem too?

just my hba1c's are the problem. i work in very stressful job which i know dont work to well. i have used the I.C.E system for a while now and while it aint been perfect for me it is getting easier. i am partially to blame for the bad results for many years as i didnt admit to being a diabetic and wouldnt take my insulin for months on end and then wonder why i was in hospital so often being told if i didnt start to look after myself i would be dead inside 3 years. i got a huge wake up call when i started to loose my eyesight. i have now been a "good diabetic" for 3 years now and i hope to be on a pump soon so that may well improve the numbers lol
