Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Good Afternoon everyone,

I am Omar, 33 from Manchester. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes due to depression and a very strong addiction to Cola. I used to hardly eat much but drank cola too much. It then all came to a head when I went to bed at night and woke up at hospital. This was back in August 2018. However the damage has now been done but now I am on the mend and have had a self esteem boost thanks to ditching all fizzy drinks/juices and sticking to water only. I have actually found that eating often but smaller portions but keeping Carbs to a minimum has really helped me.
It took me a while to join here as I felt embarrassed at telling people at only 33 years old, but now I have a new family here all going through Diabetes that I should give this try. Sad to say it was what I expected due to constantly high sugar but now as I have this under control, I am not seeing any blood spikes above 7.5.

Hope to see you all around here soon.

Omar 🙂

Welcome Omar 🙂. When I see a youngster with a Pizza & a 2lt bottle of Coke ? I think NO. Well done you for getting off the bad stuff 😎

Thanks Hobie 🙂 It does make you think doesn't it? Quitting the fizz was like quitting smoking!! Seriously I had all the withdrawal symptoms too haha 🙂
