I had a great Christmas. Was diagnosed with T2 the day before we won the star prize in the local school raffle - a great big Christmas hamper of mainly very sugary goodies!!
My diagnosis, like many other folk's arose as a result from a blood test for another condition (PAD), and an almost throw away remark that I'd lost a bit of weight over the past couple of years.
Now trying to juggle a diet that helps me increase weight at the same time as keeping blood glucose down. Not easy.

Hi and welcome Dave - increasing weight is not a problem I have ever suffered from - I can do it in a heartbeat! *sigh*

Hi Dave W, welcome to the forum 🙂 Have you been given any medication for your diabetes? Do you have any of the symptoms for diabetes (tiredness, thirst, peeing a lot) and if so, how long has this been happening for prior to your diagnosis? People (myself included!) often write such symptoms off as being due to other things, but can begin to seem obvious once you are diagnosed.

What changes have you made to your diet? Are you underweight then?

Welcome. I have a problem with maintaining my weight. It's not easy. Fat might work for you! Actually I'm beginning to wonder if we ought to have a board on here for people who need to gain/maintain weight! I don't think we'd be very welcome in the weight loss group.:D

Well said Susan I have a struggle.to keep my weight up too.

Welcome Dave from a fellow T2 who's 15 months in. I was diagnosed in December to.

Hi Dave and welcome. Shame about the hamper!
I lost weight low carb eating so know where you're coming from. Was fine for me but if you're already at the correct weight I think you'll need to eat more of the things you can have. Maybe things like nuts and cheese if you like them.
Good luck.
