Hi Katie, welcome to the forum 🙂 We don't have a lot of people your age, but we do have quite a few that are just a few years older that have had diabetes as they were growing up, so if you have any questions I'm sure they will try their best to help! What sort of insulin are you on? How many injections? Or are you one of the lucky people with an insulin pump? 🙂

Hi there Katieee and welcome to the site, theres a few teens on here not to sure of there ages, but anything you need to ask just do we are a good lot x

Hey Katie,

I'm nineteen and I've been diabetic since I was five. I'll pass on my MSN or Facebook stuff if you want me to do that. On that note, welcome to the madhouse.

Tom

yees, ive been looking on this and not noticed alot of people my age but im sure i can get along with some of the slightly older ones🙂,
i have 4 injections a day, urrm.. the insulins called novo rapid, but i have lantus solo star as my 24hr injection, that doesnt mix in with the 4. 🙂
me and my mum have been researching about the pump, and im thinking about it, but i havent got brilliant control of my diabetes yet and my doctor said that nocei can start to controll it much better then hell give me some paper work and leaflets and stuff about the pump, so im working on it! 🙂

I'm on the same as you! 🙂 I use a different pen for my lantus though, the autopen 24 (which I don't like - much prefer my novopen!). We have quite a few people on pumps here so if you and your mum want any advice about what it's REALLY like (not just what the doctors and nurses tell you!) I'm sure they'll be happy to help! 🙂

Northener- same insulin.

coool!🙂
yeeah i use a different pen for my lantus, i dont lik eit either. mine is quite stiff to push down so it hurts when i take mine, i prefer my novorapid pen too.
well, at least i have something in common with someone!🙂
yees, i think i do need to talk to some people about what the pumps like.. thanks for all the advice!

You and your Mum should have a look at http://www.childrenwithdiabetesuk.org/ (if you haven't already!). There are lots of young people who use pumps there. 🙂
