Is anybody else having trouble keeping their sensor secure in this heat?

Last week one fell off after a day, that was with a patch! Then my replacement lasted 5 days with rock tape…splashed out on new stronger patches and sticky wipes you guessed it, it’s peeling already after one day!

I do have a manual job so do move my arms around alit, clothing rubs and I so sometimes get a bit sweaty. Bootcamp they just fall off and swimming I daren’t even try in fear I’ll loose my transmitter

My nurse told me I should contact Dexcom because they’re meant to be a abit more robust than the libre but just thought I’d ask on here first to see if others are having problems aswell

I think mine use superglue. It always hurts to take off, thought yesterday would be a test but no. So. I think that’s it’s down to skin type as to whether they stick well or not. I had D7 until the One+ came out and used them for 12 months now and never had one fall off.

The most likely reason for my sensor to fall off (or start peeling) is that I have not placed them on a flat part of my arm. As my arm flexes, the flat solid sensor does not bend so it starts to peel.
Like @Chelseagirl they stick like limpets when I use a flat clean part of my arm. Sweat and showers and sunscreen do not affect them.

I think good skin prep before application is really important too. I always exfoliate to remove any dry flaky skin and obviously wash at the same time to remove grease, then towel dry, then I blast it with a hair drier to make sure it is absolutely dry before I apply. I use Libre and I usually apply before bed so that it isn't exposed to anything hazardous for the first 10 hours and I have an arm strap which goes on straight after application to give it extra support during that early stage when the adhesive is bonding with the skin and it is most vulnerable.

IMG_1285.jpeg That’s where I put mine. No compression lows when sleeping, no bra strap issues and reads pretty accurately. Would not work for someone who doesn’t like it showing, but that doesn’t bother me.

I go for the opposite approach - as high and far back as I can get whilst avoiding my shoulder blade (the filament needs at least 5mm fat).
No compression lows (unless you are attempting a shoulder stand in your sleep) and the bra strap stays away (although that maybe because I have unconsciously adapted my dressing technique),

There's overpatches that go over Dexcom sensors, request them from manufacturer & they'll be sent out to you.

I'm OK with adhesion in the heat, clean skin before using alcohol wipes or surgical spirit, not recommended but current DexG6 is on my chest, accuracy wise it's spot on so no issues putting it there.
