Kim Green does not blame the controversial NHS 111 service for her husband's death.
But after trying unsuccessfully to get a nurse to visit her cancer-stricken husband to administer his drugs, the heartbroken widow is left with the devastating feeling that he suffered more than he needed to in his final hours.
Jonathan Green died last week following a battle with cancer. On the day of his death, Mrs Green, from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, spent almost an hour waiting on the phone to the new NHS 111 helpline desperately trying to get him the pain relief he craved.

I thought the 111 service was for none urgent advice  Surely there was an after hours Drs service to call who would have been more suited for that poor gentleman's needs?

some doctors have the 111 service as there out of hours service you have to ring 111 first in some areas
