Charities team up to launch fancy dress Festive Fun Run
Diabetes UK Cymru, Marie Curie Cancer Care and St John Cymru Wales are appealing for people to get into the festive spirit by supporting their first joint Festive Fun Run. The three charities have joined forces to launch their first fancy dress Festive Fun Run, sponsored by Vale Healthcare Ltd, along Penarth seafront on Sunday 12 December to raise vital funds.

Flu jabs during pregnancy 'help protect child'

Babies are less likely to get flu if their mothers have had the vaccine during pregnancy, a US study says. Researchers examined 1,169 women from an American Indian tribe, finding it reduced infections by 41% in the first six months of life.

Post-hospital care given extra ?70m
More money is being made available to the NHS in order to improve care for elderly people who are discharged from hospitals in England. The extra ?70m is for "re-ablement": six-week packages of support which help vulnerable patients adjust to life back home after illness or injury.
