Diabetes UK Cymru urges people to know their facts about diabetes
Diabetes UK Cymru has sent postcards to every GP surgery and pharmacy in Wales to launch a new campaign to help people across the country understand the condition. The charity has sent out 50,000 postcards ? one for every person with undiagnosed diabetes in Wales ? to launch its Know Your Facts campaign. Dai Williams, National Director, Diabetes UK Cymru, quoted.

Councils in charge of healthy lifestyle drive
Councils are to be put in charge of encouraging healthier lifestyles under plans to be unveiled by ministers. Local public health directors will be moved out of the NHS and into local government as part of the shake-up.

Women 'in the dark' on heart risk

Only one in 10 women aged 50 or older say they have discussed their risk of heart disease during a GP visit, according to a survey. The British Heart Foundation poll of more than 4,000 UK women also found many unaware of the symptoms of a heart attack.
