Some doctors are set to argue against moves towards an organ donation system of presumed consent in the UK. Under presumed consent all people are assumed to be willing to donate their organs unless they have opted out.

Act on child abuse suspicions, doctors told

Any doctor who suspects child abuse must raise the alarm immediately and tell parents what action they will be taking, new draft guidance says. Doctors acting reasonably in response to concerns about abuse or neglect will not be subject to censure, it adds.
