Fresh cancer worries over breast implants
The French government is to foot the bill for tens of thousands of women to have their breast implants removed, amid fears they are at a heightened risk of cancer. But a similar number of British women who also have the controversial implants face hefty surgical bills for the same treatment.

Everyone over 40 will be offered a free health MoT
Everyone aged between 40 and 72 will have to be offered a regular free ?health MoT? by their local authority under proposals designed to save hundreds of lives every year. Councils will be obliged to invite all those in that age group for a check-up every five years to find out whether they are at risk of a heart attack or stroke.

Men are too polite to tell women to lose weight
Don't rely on the man in your life to tell you that you're piling on the pounds. Chaps are much more reluctant than women to confront a partner about their weight. Almost a third of men don't want to raise the subject compared to a mere 10 per cent of women who would be reluctant to suggest their partner slimmed down.

Six in ten dementia sufferers not diagnosed
The majority of people with the condition have not been diagnosed meaning they are missing out on vital support and treatment, MPs said. Despite improvements in understanding of dementia, diagnosis rates have only increased by two per cent to reach 43 per cent in the last year.

Homeless people in the UK revealed to have a life expectancy of just 47

Homeless people can expect their lives to be about 30 years shorter than average, with a likelihood of dying at around 47, a life expectancy comparable to that in the Congo, according to a report by the charity Crisis.

The homeless report as highlighted in the Guardian seems particularly shocking at this time of the year but it is an ongoing problem for so many people. They have none of the things that we take for granted.
