Coffee reduces the risk of diabetes...but decaff works just as well
A study found three compounds contained in the beverage can block the toxic build up of a protein, which is known to trigger the long-term condition. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body doesn't prevent enough insulin for it to function properly but the coffee extracts were also shown to prevent insulin-producing cells from being destroyed.

Tackling Britain?s stillbirth rate ? one of the worst in the developed world ? could save 1,200 lives a year, a neonatal charity has claimed. Better use of scans, placenta tests and educating mums-to-be about staying healthy could keep more babies alive, the charity Sands believes. It pointed out 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth every day - a figure that has barely changed since the late 1990s.

It's not just goo goo ga ga: Babies learn to talk by taking up lip reading at six months
Babies don't learn to talk just from hearing your voice. New research suggests they're lip-readers too. It happens around the age of six months when a baby begins shifting from the intent eye gaze of early infancy to studying mouths when people talk to them. Their babbling then gradually changes from gibberish into syllables and eventually into those precious first words.
