Third of older adults more likely to die as 'find it difficult to read and understand medicine labels'
One in three older adults who have difficulty reading and understanding basic health-related information, according to a new study. They are more than twice as likely to die within five years as adults with no such problems. Human resistance to antibiotics could bring "the end of modern medicine as we know it", WHO claim
Margaret Chan, director general of the WHO, warned that humans have become so resistant to common antibiotics that it could bring about ?the end of modern medicine as we know it.? As a result, she claimed, every antibiotic ever developed is at risk of becoming useless, making once-routine operations impossible. This would include many of the breakthrough drugs developed to treat tuberculosis, malaria, bacterial infections and HIV/AIDS, as well as simple treatments for cuts.

7,000 MORE British women than previously thought have faulty breast implants, Government warns
At least 7,000 more women are at risk from potentially faulty PIP breast implants at the centre of a global health scare, the Government revealed last night. The implants, manufactured by defunct French company Poly Implant Prothese, were filled with industrial-grade silicone gel intended for mattresses and can rupture, exposing the silicone to body tissue. French authorities previously said only those implants used after 2001 may have included the unauthorised gel.
