Scientists have stumbled on a potential new treatment for delayed asthma attacks which can occur several hours after exposure to allergens, a study shows. A team from Imperial College London found that blocking sensory nerve functions stopped a "late asthmatic response" in mice and rats.

If a child has autism, the risk of a younger sibling also developing the disorder is higher than previously thought, says a large US study. Writing in Pediatrics, researchers from the University of California Davis studied 664 infants up to the age of three.

A SERIOUS accident on the M25 motorway which caused huge tailbacks of traffic on Friday unfortunately had a knock-on effect for a weekend charity event held in Bexhill. Tracey Hollingdale and helpers had organised a two-mile walk or run from The Polegrove to Galley Hill and back to raise money for Diabetes UK.
