Mayor?s Appeal raises more than ?13,000 for Diabetes UK Cymru
The former mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taff raised more than ?13,000 for Diabetes UK Cymru with his Mayor?s Appeal. Cllr Bob Smith, Mayor of Rhondda Cynon Taff last year, raised ?13,376.33 for Diabetes UK Cymru by naming the charity as one of the beneficiaries of his Mayor?s Appeal.

Two million children 'wrongly labelled' with food allergies: guidance

More than two million children are wrongly labelled as having a food allergy and are being placed on unnecessary and potentially harmful diets, according to the NHS watchdog. The National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) is issuing the first ever guidance to GPs on how to spot and diagnose food allergies in children.

Investor relief after AstraZeneca settles Seroquel case for ?125m
AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical group, has agreed to pay $198m (?125m) to US claimants to settle part of a dispute over its anti-psychosis drug, Seroquel. The deal, which follows a court-ordered mediation, covers 17,500 of 22,412 plaintiffs who say they were not warned that the drug could cause diabetes in some users. The company maintains that its labelling made clear any potential associations between Seroquel and the disease.
