I've been getting headaches pretty much every day for the last few days.

It's not the migrane type in which you have to go hide in a dark room, I can ignore them and if I can keep busy I don't notice it so much. But once I stop it's there in the background. I'm OK first thing, but as I go through the day it starts appearing and usually by lunchtime it's there.

Now, my glasses are at the end of their prescription life - but surely it wouldn't go from one day being OK to the next being headaches? I work in an office environment and am in-front of the screen most of the day.

It seems to somewhat bypass paracetamol as well :(

Might check with the local pharmacist first. Getting into the GP would take a few days.

Yup - get your eyes checked, far easier to get an optician's appointment than a GP one - and yes it is possible, I had a bit of a wake up call several years ago when I was having trouble - practically everything had changed including the axis of my astygmatic eye within about 6 months!

I am waiting for my replacement broken glasses and although only had the new ones for a month , going back to old prescription is tiring and I feel the strain a bit.

I would definitely get your eyes tested.

Yup, I agree with these sensible ladies, the eye test should be the first port of call, particularly as it’s not a fearsome headache. Ibuprofen might be more effective than paracetamol here.

Unfortunately I have to avoid ibuprofen so it doesn't irritate my tummy. I could take it, but then I have to double my lansoprazole dose - and I have enough trouble swallowing one of the buggers.

I did actually have my eye's tested about 3 weeks ago and there had only been a small change. Although that small change was on top of last years small change and my glasses are currently a couple of years old! Sounds like replacement is due.

Can you tolerate Anadin Extra (mix of aspirin, paracetamol, and caffeine)? They are the only thing that work for my headaches, and my GP says they are recommended for migraine-sufferers now, though I suspect that's probably at the mild end of migraines.

But yes, I'd try new glasses before you try anything else. Other than that, has there been any change in your working environment (eg different monitor for your computer) which might be effecting you?

Could it be dehydration? I find with places having heating on and it being cold outside that i need to drink twice as much not to get a headache.

When my blood glucose was very high I had headaches daily , now when my blood glucose goes up I tend to get a headache. Is it possible that it could be related to your blood glucose levels.?

Well it turns out that the glasses I'm currently wearing are a prescription from 3 years ago, not 2 as I had thought. The change is significant as well.

No wonder that I was getting headache's then!

Do you work in an environment where there is strip lighting? I once worked where there was strip lighting ~ also in my kitchen at that time too. When I left that place of employment and also replaced the strip lighting in my kitchen, my severe headaches ceased. Just a thought🙂

Yes, plenty of strip lighting! And different colour temperatures too.

However, tempting as it might be, leaving isn't high on my priorities right now. I'll have to live with it for a couple of weeks until the new glasses come in.

Glad it was something, err, how can I say this? - obvious! LOL Mark.
