Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have diabetes type 2 and my sugar level are good. I walk every day and exercise for 3 days a week but I keep getting painful headaches. I eat about 1200 calories a day. Can anyone suggested why I keep getting headaches ?

No - I can't - headaches are simply not a recognised feature of diabetes - so you need to go and see your GP and talk to him about them

There’s a great deal of information out there on the connection between diabetes and headaches but mainly as the result of hyperglycaemia or hypoglycaemia. As your levels are good and you seem active and have the diabetes under control, I agree with Jenny that you’d be best asking your GP. There’s so many reasons for headaches that may be unconnected. Good luck with sorting them. Headaches are evil! 😡

Thank you for your reply. I have been to the doctors and he has lowered my thyroid tables.

Hi Roger, does that seem to be helping?

It could be something simple like are you taking in enough water? Should be around five pints a day I think. My daughter gets horrendous headaches if she doesn't drink.

The thyroid reduction did help, plus I am warmer. I have had this headache since Thursday night, so I am going back to the doctors Monday. I do drink my water.
