Hi Guys
Just called GP for blood test results and its 37 all changed from last time when it was 5.4 but found calculator and worded it out to have gone up slightly to 5.5ish so don't know why background retinpothy ! Thanks to all that put my mind at rest last week.

However GP has asked to see me to discuss results. Was tested for everything but I bet its my liver as drinking far too much. Will let you know

It can't be serious if they said routine apt on friday can it? Surely if it was serious they would have me in today?

Julie x

I doubt it will be serious if you haven't been asked to come in immediately. Well done on a brilliant HbA1c Julie! Mine was 5.4% last time and I have my next result coming up next week so I hope I've done as well as you 🙂

Hope all goes well at the appointment. I 'have my moments/weeks' where more than the prescribed number of alcohol units pass my lips, but I see to survive OK. I do have elevated levels of bilorubin, but my GP thinks this may be Gilbert's Syndrome and harmless, so it's possible it's something like that.

Yee Hah is what I'd say!

Background thing is probably a leave-over from whatever your blood sugar was doing prior to diagnosis. If it's any comfort to you, I've had it since the 1990's and I still have it ..... now in both eyes instead of just the one. Well after nearly 40 years and the c**p insulin regimes carp testing opportunities and c**p controls we had at our disposal in the past, I really don't think that's bad. Annoying because most of it wasn't down to me, exactly, but there you go.

Doesn't change yer life exactly, just makes you all the more determined to try not to do owt to worsen it, as far as I am concerned.
