Latest HbA1c result - 8.9 - not o good, but just done DAFNE course, so next one WILL be excellent!!! If you can get yourself on a DAFNE course would highly recommend it!

DAFNE seems to do the trick for a lot of people, I hope it does it for you so you can get that HbA1c down. Don't try too hard though - better a gradual fall than a sudden drop 🙂

We were told on dafne that on average graduates lower their a1c by one so you should get into the 7's🙂

Thanks, yes, I was in the sevens before the last couple of results, but then went a bit 'off track'! It's my swings that needed sorting and doing OK - thanks. 🙂

Runner, sorry if you've told the forum a million times already, what swings? are they caused as your pancreas hasn't completely popped it's clogs completely or was it user error, or what?

Hi trophywench, the swings were the differences between BG readings, more towards evening and rise in morning. Seems it is more due to combination of background insulin not lasting the 24 hours, me increasing the background insulin, which was then too high and overcorrecting. I tended to react to individual BGs rather than waiting to see a pattern in my BG's and making small adjustments to that. Hope that makes sense!

So have you now a) tested your basal and changed to 2 jabs a day, or what and b) stopped reacting to individual BG's LOL

Changed basal to eve, and yes - stopped rating to each BG and looking for patterns! You got it!

My last HbA1c was 8.1 I think and the one before that was 7.9. I haven't been on DAFNE yet but i'm on the waiting list.

Clarkey - I thought I knew a lot, even though you never know it all, but learnt even more on DAFNE - hope you enjoy it too.
