Have just had an email from my DN who tells me that my result was 49. No real change, was 48 last time. She then went on to say that she aims for 53 with patients on insulin. And asked if I had any hypos. No was my reply to that. It’s almost as if she’s saying my control is too tight. Or am I reading this wrong?

Well done on holding things steady @Chelseagirl

The NICE guidelines recommend slightly higher targets for those on some medications which can cause hypoglycaemia

BUT

The same guidelines also say that where people are able to achieve a lower HbA1c with no hypos, they should be supported and encouraged to continue 🙂
