Hi all,
I just needed to celebrate a bit!
I was diagnosed August 1 with HbA1C of 87…my second test to confirm diabetes was 71.
I had a check up this week and it’s now 50 ☺️
I’ve been taking 3 metformin daily instead of 4, as 4 really upset my stomach. So my DN has said I can stay on 3.
I obviously want to continue this path, and hopefully move to remission in the next year or two if it’s possible.
As a relatively newly diagnosed person, I spent a lot of August crying and I felt very overwhelmed. But, the support and information on these forums have been invaluable - I have learnt so much. With hindsight, I probably wouldn’t have made the changes that I’ve needed to without such a shock, which is such a shame that I wasn’t in tune with and caring for my body, but we move.
I feel it’s fair to mention, I am overweight and haven’t lost even a kilo according to my scales, but I do work out often, so my body shape is changing - I just need to trust my body will catch up when it’s ready - as I have been worrying about not losing weight when it’s one of the ways in which I was told that I could help my diabetes.
But for now, celebration with an early morning trip to the gym!
