I am a very happy bunny, my HbA1c result is 43 down from 51 in April and 90 in January. I was a little concerned as have upped my carbs as desperately miss them, though still hugely lower than I used to eat and also to keep my weight stable. I have my review next week and will beg them to start reducing my Metformin, 4x500 a day. I feel really excited about my result and it gives me real impetus to keep it up and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone on here who has been so supportive and helpful through these last seven months. It’s your experience and knowledge that has helped me when I’ve been low, felt isolated and not known what to do so again thank you folks and big hugs to all of you xx

Great result, well done.

Brilliant!

Huge congratulations Sue!! That is a superb result and testament to your hard work. Good luck going forward.

Thats really good news @SueEK - you've done it.
Knowing that you've had the resolve to do such an excellent job in reducing your HbA1c, will give you the confidence to carry on doing what you know is the right thing.
🙂 Dez

Fantastic news Sue. Well done. 🙂

Congratulations Sue that's great, well done 🙂

I have my HbA1C this Thursday and hoping mine is showing good improvement too.

Weigh in this morning 65.4kg = 10.29 stone (144.18 lbx)

So on average I have been losing 1lb a week on low carbs.

although last night I ate a lot of carbs just wanted to. I want to do it again today but not sure if that is a good idea with HbA1C test tomorrow.
my blood sugar has been higher this week but that's because I not feeling a 100% I think but its still generally lower than it was. Before carb meal last night it was down to 5.5 though, but I've had some 6s 8s and 9s again after food.

Congratulations!! Great to see your hard work paying off :D

Spot on Sue well done.🙂

Lovely results, @SueEK, you must be really chuffed! I hope they let you off the Metformin, as it's a wonderful feeling - I gaped at my GP when she suggested it but then felt on cloud 9 :D

It's still hard work of course to keep going on diet alone, but the thought of going back on Metformin should keep you on the straight and narrow. Good luck!

43...
Does that mean you are in remission?
Can you now try and manage without the metformin?
D
I don’t know, I have my review next week and will definitely ask if I can at least reduce my Metformin, really hope so

My figures are also between 5 and 9 but I only test occasionally now, mainly lower figures. Still have carbs but nothing like I used to. Saying that I am presently eating a large chicken salad roll, I have one about every two months yum x good luck for your upcoming test, let us know how it went
