Just got the result from blood test on Wednesday

Now at 43 (came off the Metformin in July - Diet only since then)

I haven't been very active though, so it should improve more if I can get a little more active.

May was 53
April was 58

Well done Derek...fantastic results...shows it was the right decision to come off the Metformin...inspiration for us all...no doubt you will improve further with your resolve...great job.

That's a very good result. Well done.

Hope so Busbie.

I've got a really bad cold at the moment & I am having investigations from ENT as I really struggle to sleep & breathe properly.
But the diet is working. I haven't completely removed treats & things, at first I did, but the last month or so I haven't been afraid to just have some treats here and there, although mostly at times when I have felt quite weak, so needed something of a boost.
Been eating more protein (chicken / Eggs / Bacon) & more high fats like full fat greek yoghurt & quite a lot of cheese & peanut butter. My dad has an allotment & brings loads of his veg every week aswell, so been eating loads of greens.
Been having sugar free jelly & 85% dark chocolate & asda own non sugar cola to satisfy any sweet cravings I might get , also drinking lots of the Vit D Milk from asda.
I am also recovering from a hernia op in my stomach 1 month ago, they took my blood sugar just before the op & it was 4.9, this was after a few hours of not being allowed to eat or drink anything though.
The surgeon said my stomach muscles were very weak, but he seems to have tightened things a bit, I have been walking more recently & can feel it firming a little, I just need to build up my muscles all over really.

Oh, I forgot to say, I haven't tested my own levels for the last two months either.
I will test if I get very weak ( test for hypo).
