After a phone appointment to get a fit to fly letter as requested by the travel agents I finally got my last two HbA1c results which are still not to my liking but a lot better than they were.

In Jan my HbA1c was 68 which I knew was going high due to my readings and a doc listened and arranged the test. Results were not given to me but got the dreaded phone call to max out on the gliclazide.

I had another HbA1c a short while ago and just had the result given to me and it's back down to 55 still too high for my liking, but thanks to a special lady in my life we are now changing my diet slowly and did loose 10.7 kilos with another 10 to go.

Some of the weight lose was due to illness and as I have to go and fork out £20 for the fitness to fly letter and it should be ready on Friday will check to see if the weight lose has continued or crept back up slightly, hoping that it is a continued weight lose.

That is a good result @pav, and more than likely the weight loss and adaptations you are making to your diet have made a significant contribution to the improvement 🙂 I hope things continue to improve for you 🙂

Good results. You are heading in the right direction. Well done.

Good result.
Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day or as we say on here , this is a marathon not a sprint.
I am sure the changes you’re making will improve you’re control even more .

Good to hear of your progress Pav. Well done.

I'm curious as to why you were asked for this - I've never heard of anyone being asked before and that of course includes me, short or long haul.

Think it was partially down to asking for extra baggage for the cpap machine as it weighs 3 kg and they were covering their backsides. Picked up the letter today and are £20 lighter off, add to that will have a dentists bill later this week as broke a tooth eating some toast. Then there was good news and bad news off the scales I have put on 2.8 kilos after loosing 10.7 kilos with the flu so net loss since Xmas is around 8 kilos, the good news in a way is my blood pressure has swung from being very high to a reading today of 112 / 66 which is very unusual for me, and could make my thinking was right that the extra blood pressure I stopped taking was causing the collapses.
