Having a little hypo... what to eat?

Just passing through to say hello, and wish everyone a good day!

Having a little hypo as we speak, have treated with dextros tablets and will retest in 20 minutes.

QUESTION: What's your go-to hypo treatment? Do you go for practicality, or use it to have a tasty treat?

It depends on the nature of the hypo, where I am, what I'm doing, and what's available. For a full blown hypo (rapid drop, low threes or less) I nearly always use Dextrosol tablets which I keep in my handbag, desk drawer, glove box, bedside table, camera bag..... or if I am at home I might have half a carton of full sugar Ribena.
For a mini dip (3.5 or above, or low 4s and dropping) I try to go for something with a bit more food value such as a mini box of raisins (which I buy from Poundland - the Peppa Pig ones are 10g carbs each). If I have the opportunity of having something nice on these occasions I will, such as a biscuit or a mini ice cream.

I'm a Dextro man as well. Easily fit in a pocket. Or for a mild dip, a couple of fruit pastilles, or a digestive biccie.

Jelly babies, usually above 3.5 so only 1, on the occasion I had a bad hypo (3.2 up to 3.7 and back down to 3.0) I think it was 8 jelly babies but no other available treatments as was at a funeral x

I'm a dextro tablet girl as well, or maybe one or two rich tea biscuits depending on BG level.
If I had jelly babies or fruit pastilles in the house they wouldn't last long as I'd scoff them all :D

At home I generally rely on Orange Lucozade (even though they've reduced the carbs in it recently)

I used Fruit pastilles for years when out and about, but they changed their formulation and now end up as a gooey mess if you keep them is a pocket for any length of time.

So now my pocket treatment of choice is Skittles. They work out approx 1g carbs each, so it's easy to tailor the amount I need for different situations.

Depends on where I am, what I'm doing and what the number is. I always have 1/2 a packet of fruit pastilles in my pocket (note, always check pockets before putting clothes in washing machine!!!). Carry pastilles and fruity cereal bars in my bag. If at home and middle of night maybe a glass of orange juice, although I'm rather partial to a biscuit with marmalade on it...don't judge meo_O ha ha. I don't have jelly babies as I'd eat the whole bag...even the green ones! 🙂

Fruit pastilles for me, especially the green ones! Its always a bonus getting 2 in a row!

It depends where I am. If downstairs at home, a swig or two of juice.
Anywhere else it's dextrose tablets for me.

Fruit pastels or wine gums or a small carton of orange juice for a reasonable quick sugar hit, for a slower response fruit biscuits.

Dextrose for me too unless it's only just dipping into hypo land when I may have a belvita or an oatcake.

I thought you had to have orange juice like Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias!

Jelly babies or small carton of orange juice if I've got some in.

Juice if at home and below 3. Otherwise jelly babies.easy to carry are und, but don't leave a bag of them in a hot car!!!

I am lucky enough to seldom have a bad hypo.

If at home a glass of milk, out and about Dextrose tablets I keep with my insulin kit.
