A loving husband conquered his first triathlon in aid of a charity close to his heart.
Andy Brown, of Julian Close, crossed the finish line of HaverTri – the town's first triathlon – last week in 53 minutes and 10 seconds.
Andy, 39, was taking part for Diabetes UK. His wife was diagnosed with the Type 2 strain of the disease a few years ago – and he was told he was also at risk.
He said: "My wife was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a couple of years ago after gaining weight due to medication she was taking, and I found out I was at risk of developing the condition because I was overweight.
