My usual seasonal search for a foot cream that would help my over wintered feet resulted in this:
If anyone has tried it, I'd be interested to read thoughts/results.
Thanks

Well you haven’t put a photo, but I use this. It’s in high street chemists and on Amazon. Suitable for diabetics

I use "Dermatonics Once Heel Balm" which was recommended to me by the DSN on my last checkup.

I have had dry, cracked skin on my feet all my life and have tried pretty well everything on the market and even things that aren't on the market for humans like udder cream for cows and a combination of lard and sugar which is a old remedy my Dad remembered!
The thing that has worked best for me is Margaret Dabbs Foot Hygiene Cream. It is expensive at about £25 a tub but you only use a tiny amount and a tub lasts me a whole year.
Flexitol is pretty good but I would not go back to it now I have used the Margaret Dabbs.

I do find that it is really important that I keep the hard dry skin that develops on my feet (particularly my heels, rasped regularly (about once every 3-4 weeks) and then wash in warm water and apply the cream when my feet are still soft after washing, to keep the moisture in.

Interestingly, after a discussion recently about Vick's vapour rub working on killing fungal nail infection, I have occasionally been applying Vick's to my feet after washing instead of the Margaret Dabbs and I am loving the cooling, tingling sensation that the Vick's creates in my feet for a good couple of hours afterwards, particularly in the warm weather or when I have boots or trainers on for long periods. I expect, if it is effective against fungal nail infection, it will also help prevent athlete's foot. I don't use it every day but once in a while it is really invigorating!

Yes it was me that mentioned it after being told by the NHS podiatrist that it was better than any of the expensive stuff you paint on the nails and doesn't really work well.

@Leadinglights Have you tried putting it all over your feet? It really does create a very pleasant effect in my opinion anyway and of course it is petroleum jelly based so keeps the moisture in if applied straight after washing and drying. I suspect it also stimulates blood flow from the sensation it causes.

I haven't although I does get smothered over my toes but not the rest of my feet. I did used to get cracked thick skin on my heels but Boots cracked heel cream sorted it out and if needed I just use any old moisturizer that comes to hand.
