My husband has to have laser treatment in a couple of weeks to try and save his sight...

what eye condition does he have?

I've had numerous injections in both eyes for diabetic macular oedema and then 1 session of lasering to both eyes for proliferative retinopathy

Hoping for a successsful outcome for your husband @Viv53

I hope all goes well for your husband. I have had laser treatment on both eyes. Last one was in 2006. I do not want to temp fate so I will say as of today everything has been OK. It is a very quick procedure. The worst part was the waiting. Waiting for the drops to work and then waiting in line for it to be done. I was on my own as my husband had to go to work. I found listening to a story on my phone, with earphones of course, passed the time away.

I did have laser on both eyes but not at the same time. Cannot remember now if it was because only one eye needed it at the time. I also (at a later date) had cataracts done. My vision has been fine. Over the years I have needed stronger glasses, but I probably would anyway. My mother was one of the first people to get laser treatment. In those days she had to spend a week in St. Bart's hospital. I think it is best to do one eye at a time. As I said, the worst part was the hanging around waiting.
