to all mum's with diabetes or looking after someone with it.

You are all AMAZING for what you cope with!

Have a lovely day !!

Happy Mother's day from me too - hard enough sometimes having to deal with this as an adult, but looking after a little one with it (or even when they're bigger!) si so hard at times.

And a special Happy Mother's Day to all our members with diabetes who have had little ones of their own! 🙂

I agree, my mum has been there when I've found my diabetes hard & is my rock.

Happy Mother's Day moo moo!

Happy mothers day to all your mummies out there x

A special mention to those of us who no longer have our mums around I hate this day usually but this one is special as my MIL is here and she is like my second mum

Happy Mothers Day to all of us mums. Hope you have a fabulous day. My amazing daughter Sophie, has spoiled me with lots of lovely presents. However she gave me a card and this is what she wrote in it:

Mummy, well in all honesty I don't know where to begin!
Mum, you're honestly the best person in the world to me!
You're like my rock, the person I tell everything to, but.....most importantly you're my BEST friend!
This is the one day in the whole year where I get to tell you exactly how much
I love you and how much you mean to me. You deserve to be spoiled today!
You're an incredible woman! You stand by me 110%. No matter how c**p things get you're there picking up the pieces. I'm glad to have you for a mother because some other stranger wouldn't have put up with me for his long.
I worked on this poem in English:
I want to thank you mother
For your patience
Your encouragement
Your strength
Your generosity
Your amazing love....
And for those six words that helped me through so many trying times
"Because I said so, that's why!"
Love you
You're one in a million

That meant more to me than all the presents in the world. I cried when I read it. She really is the most amazing person in the world. I'm going to treasure that card forever. So once again to all the mums have a great day and if your babies are too young to write you cards of their own, I'd like you to share my 'baby's' (she's 15) words of love to me x

i know how you feel steff im much the same and dislike mothers day it reminds me of the pain of loosing my mum but i still buy her a card and flowers and place them on her grave

Well about a million years ago my mum and dad noticed that the price of eg a bunch of daffs (the standard when I grew up LOL) more or less doubled just before Mother's Day and they really really objected to that because it was 'ripping off' (a phrase not invented then) little kids who'd probably had to save up their pocket money to buy them and they disapproved of that mightily.

So she used to say - don't get me ANYTHING for Mother's Day. If you want to get me a little bunch of flowers any other day of the year, I'd rather you did that than feel obliged to do so just cos someone decided it's sposed to be 'my' day. I want flowers because I'm your mum and you love me - not because it's THAT.

So that's what we always did. Her faves were anemones and so as soon as I saw them (supposing I had the half crown LOL) I used to get her some, and at other times whenever I thought I would.

However my big step-babies (aged 40-ish LOL) have each bought me a very nice card and a big bunch of flowers from the eldest. So I ain't knocking it now!

I hope you all enjoyed Mothers Day. My neices treated my mum for mothers day this years as it is her first without my dad, I'll do her something special next week.
