Must have a big budget round your way Phil, we have to phone up for results, or wait for next clinic:(

Mind you with a result like that you must be her 'star patient' so perhaps she was paying for the call herself:D

Well done you!

Well done you. Keep up the good work.

I have an e-mail address for the practise nurse who runs the diabetic clinics; she gave it to me so I could let her know when I needed my metformin to be put on my automatic prescription again.

Metformin reduced by half in November as HBA1c result really good (she thought it was a bit low at 5.8%) so I have enough metformin to last me a couple of months.

Have they changed your medication or keeping it the same at present?

Good work Phil! Great to see you are improving on an already good level.

Will be interested to see if I see any changes post-pump myself

I'm sure you will see an improvement Mike, the pump has been great for me, I had never had an HbA1c in the 6s on MDI and if I had managed it....it would have been because of too many hypoes!

I think in todays modern world of mobile phone contracts, the likelihood is that actually a text is the cheapest option...but less personal..however all I want to know is the result, If I needed more information I would book an appointment. My team are great though. 🙂

Congratulations Phil !

How the heck have you had so many A1c's since the pump?

I've only had the one - and not due another till next March! - and that's about one more than I usually get.

But my DSN texts me too - even when I'm in deepest France!

ha,ha! I'm due to see my consultant in January (annual review) so had an HbA1c done in Oct/Nov but my triglycerides level was a little unusual for me.....so my DSN told me to get my bloods done again, but this time fasting. She sent me a blood's bag in the post, it was marked up 'lipids' etc.....and I added 'HbA1c' to it....naughty I know! :D
