Hi Steve, welcome to the forum.

What have the docs suggested for you to manage your diabetes?

Any questions you have we should be able to help

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but the good news is that now you know the cause you can look forward to feeling much better soon. There is a lot to learn, but don't feel you need to know everything from day 1. A good place to start is by reading Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter, and getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker - these will all give you a good grounding. There are lots more links to useful information in our Useful links thread.

Please ask any questions you may have and we'll do our best to help answer them! 🙂

Hi Steve - it's a welcome from me as well. It's great when they give you info like that by phone and then leave you to stew for a fortnight!! Welcome to diabetes world.

When it happened to me I took myself up to the local pharmacies and hospital diabetes clinic to ask for info and they had lots of leaflets including the type 2 one from Diabetes UK which they gave me for free. At least I felt I had a bit of a background before having my first nurse appt and already had a list of questions. Take notes at your first meeting and ask what your levels are. Insist on an answer as some don't seem to want to tell you. Anything you do not understand come back to us and someone will have an answer for you
