I have to say, that was easy! The drops stung a little bit, but only for a few seconds. After that, painless, and I could still see fairly well too! A bit blurry, but nothing too bad. I'll get the results in the post, and then they'll decide how soon I need to be checked again. They do 3, 6, 9 and 12 month checks, depending on your results.
She did manage to freak me out though, telling me that diabetics don't get any warning signs before they go blind. She said one second you're fine, blink, and then the next second you can't see. She showed me my pictures on her laptop, and described what changes they were looking for, and what the problems could be, which was interesting. She said it was more likely if my BG was running high, and recommended I keep it under 8.5. I average 13-15! Time to go back to the nurse! I'm still freaked about the blind thing though.
And no transit van for me! All done inside the lovely new treatment centre!
