Hello

My HBa1c result has come back as 76. My previous reads were 117, 120 and 122 respectively.

I know this is high, but am quite happy with the result!

I was looking around 70, but had 3 weeks of high BG when Metormin got reduced by half to 1000mg due to my CKD and and no alternative drug was provided at the time.

Next target is around 60 and that will be with the lowest level of diabetic medicine in over 10 years, so anything lower would be fantastic.

It's great to see many people on this forum with 43 and 46 etc, that's is damn good and shows hard work and control does pay off.

Massive congratulations on your reduced HbA1C @Newbie777, that’s a great work in progress!

Don’t underestimate the positive impact of that sort of reduction either. The UK PDS trial which was one of the first to track reduction in risk of complications with lower A1cs showed a sort of J-shaped curve where reducing from 100+ to 70 represents a huge reduction in the risk of living with diabetes long-term :star:

So keep going and keep nibbling away at it to get it lower still 🙂

Thank you so much.

It's been a journey and have had to start gain really, but this time I have experience.

Onwards and upwards it is.

Or maybe it's onwards and downwards!

Congratulations on the reduction. Well done.

Many of us have come down from 3 figures so welcome to the club and well done on your progress so far. Keep doing what you're doing and hopefully your next HbA1c will be even lower.

Thanks guys appreciate all the nice comments, the hard part is consistency and resisrenting the urge to go well over limits with my food.

But I will also look at ways to enjoy my food as that is key to doing this marathon.
