Piggy Bank, a pioneering charity initiative from Guy Anderson Wines that engages wine drinkers through Facebook and other social media, has made its first donation to good causes.
For every bottle sold, GAW donates 50p to charity and when the Piggy Bank is full (it holds ?10,000) funds are distributed proportionally between charities according to the votes of consumers.
The 20,000-plus votes cast have seen ?5,076 awarded to diabetes charity JDRF (jdrf.org.uk), ?4,490 to spinal injury charity Back Up (backuptrust.org.uk) and ?434 to African wildlife protection fund Tusk (tusk.org).
