Morning, just given my donation to the vampire bank (managed it without crying, whining, or even hyper-ventilating this time...progress!).

I had my first ever HbA1c on 16th June which was 6 weeks post diagnosis. Because I was '6 weeks in' I received a pleasantly surprising result of 7.4.

Today I've been for my second and the fear of the needle was over shadowed by the excitement of the result! (I'm a numbers/statistics geek and have graphs for everything 🙂)

My OH has gone for 6.2 but I'm not daring to put a figure on it..if anyone would like to make a guess that would be fun 🙂 Results will be in about a week so I promise I'll update the thread!

I'll go for 6.8 - watching this space ! Well done on being a big brav e person in the blood-sucking department.....😛

I'll go for 6.0% 🙂 Good luck, I'm sure all your hard work in the last 3 months will have paid off!

6.5% 🙂 Good luck!

6.4 from me, very best of luck 🙂

Oooh lot's of 6's, thanks for the votes of confidence 🙂

Fingers crossed! Typically I've had a holiday and a couple of 'do's' in the last few weeks so I hope that hasn't undone any efforts!

Sorry it's taken ages to update with the score - my GP has gone on sabbatical (curses) and I had to wait to see the DSN.

Well if I were able to swear I would.

My result was 5.3!!!

My cholesterol has also lowered over 2 points to 4.5.

I'm quite literally gobsmacked and would like to thank everyone here for being such a great source of support and advice.

It's 20 weeks (to the day) since I first confronted this, went to the GP and climbed aboard the rollercoaster. I found out today that my original fasting result was 9.5, and following the GTT +2 hours was 21.6.

Weight has reduced in total by 31.6lbs, and I'd like to lose at least the same again. Waist has gone from 118cm to 100cm and I'd like to lose another 13cm. Trousers from a snug size 18, to a falling down size 16. I'd be happy to be size 14, ecstatic to be a 12.

I've a feeling the next 20 weeks aren't going to be as easy, as already I'm having a few waves of despondency this week. But I'll buck up soon I'm sure.

Diabetes has done me the power of good 🙂

I've come a long way baby...

Wow! That's really impressive Twinkle, well done!

A massive, massive pat on the back for you! Well done xx

Well done Twinkle! :D

If I had that number, I'd be straight into the kettle crisps for a bit to celebrate!!

Well done Twinkle! 🙂

What a fantastic result! Well done, you are now a member of the 5% club! 🙂 Keep up the good work and I'm sure you will achieve your goals 🙂

Lol Sheena, good guess but it's not right (said in Roy Walker Catchphrase style!).
