So I've been to see my nice Vampiress for a donation. What do you think it will be?

Last two HbA1c's were 5.5% and 5.8% and I've relaxed my diet a little - although I've generally doing more exercise having covered over 200km on my bike and walking so far this year (which is a lot more then I was doing).

They have also tested by thyroid - not expecting to see anything there!

I'll go in between with 5.5

And nope, sadly it was 6.1%

I had suspected it would be a little higher as I have relaxed my diet. Although the average on my meter is 5% right now (but that's based on 2 tests per week).

Yes I know, it's not really a bad result - but my personal target is to stay under 6%.

I'm not completely sure what to change. My review is in August so we might see what he does there.

I could swap back in the nuts that I removed from my diet. The only problem I was having with those is that if I eat quite a few it would (a) make me put on weight (b) be slightly laxative (TMI sorry). It was far too easy to grab an extra handful to nibble on too.

I had been slightly naughty eating more naughty nibbles, but I had been often been getting readings in the 4's. An HbA1c is apparently equivalent to an average of 7mmol/L says my look up chart. Not sure where I'm hitting al those 7's.

This morning was 5.3mmol/L but before bed it was 4.8mmol/L and I can't under estimate the impact on a little boy waking me up at midnight and 5am on a slightly raised morning level.
