Hi, I'm new to this forum but have had type 2 (insulin) for over 20 yrs (I am 65 and retired) I have a very minor difficulty which I would be grateful for some help: for the first time in all these years I have been experiencing some
problems in getting a blood sugar log book, my health centre doesn't have one, the hospital clinic can't get them and chemist don't stock them and the internet only advertises complicated booklets or a PDF format.. I've been advised to just use a little notebook which I do but I'm not happy with. Can anyone advise me? I am happy to buy the book.

Hi Grumpy, welcome to the forum. I use a spreadsheet for my records nowadays. It has some advantages in that I can keep records in a way that suits me and makes sense for me. The printed versions never had enough room. Or, if you have a smart phone there are plenty of apps available that do the job pretty well. Alternatively, you may be able to get a booklet from whoever made your blood glucose meter.

Welcome to the forum Grumpybumpa 🙂

Bayer will supply a record diary for free if you have a Bayer meter. As you are on insulin you should be able to get a free meter from them (not the Contour USB, they charge for that.

Any of the meter suppliers will send you one free - but ring your meter manufacturer first.

If you don't want to complete all the columns, of course there is no compunction to do so.

If you look em up on the internet, they all have a Helpline. They usually will last you about a month or 6 weeks.

At the end of the day though, all you have is a series of little notebooks, so what's the difference ! LOL

I use a note back lol maybe i should download an app! I've used the metre books but the pages and lines they provide are too small 🙂

I know Sanofi let you download or order their log book on their website, and it's not as horribly small as the Bayer one. I am generally irritated by all the options, I can record on my meter and an app I have but they're all a bit clumsy for me. If I could bare the thought of attempting to change my strip prescription I'd get a meter for my iphone, but the five appointments, furious arguments and comedy farces involved in that depress me too much to contemplate 😱

I got my Contour Next USB free from them. It's my favourite meter now.
