Remember I said I was going to test this using Celeriac instead of spud. Had a go today and it was delicious!

Just cut the celeriac into sizable chunks and tossed them and some stewing lamb in olive oil with about 4 cloves of crushed garlic and the juice of a lemon. Tipped the whole lot into an oven proof dish and cooked at 180C fan for an hour.

I found the lemon a bit strong on the celeriac so I think I would use half a lemon next time.

I was going to do some green beans with it but it was a substantial meal on its own.

The only thing missing was a slice of bread to mop up the juices *sigh*

Sounds yummy.maybe would be good with chicken instead of lamb

What!😱 Lamb is the best!:D

OK fair enough.🙂

Am I the only one who, instead of a picture in the first post, is just seeing a grey "No Entry" sign surrounded by loads of blank space?

Must be Robert

I would imagine it would be ok Carol - the recipe is for lamb as that is what the Greeks use a lot of. I thought it would work with pork as well.

As I look at the photo all I see is beige - need some green in there so next time I am going to throw a few peas in the mix for some colour.

I am also missing the photo. Are you on an iPad?

No matter this sounds a lovely meal and it is my turn to cook next week.
That is one evening sorted.

Laptop running Windows 7 Pro (I refuse to upgrade to Win10 until I can get my VirtualBox VM running Windows XP to work, so that all my old games will come back to life).

Thanks everyone

I don't see a photo

Me neither.

Looks nice now can see picture

Sounds really nice and I love lamb. I don't think I have ever tried celeriac but will certainly give it a go. For a slice of bread try Hi-Lo at 5g carbs a slice. I posted separately on this but it works for me. Different from normal bread and a bit chewy in texture but not a bad taste. Does celeriac taste of anything similar to give me an idea of flavour.

Celeriac is from the celery family. Not a strong flavour but slightly celery like in taste but has a similar texture to potato.

Thanks Mark, I don't like celery much so maybe its not for me. Perhaps I will try some as an additional veg so that if I don't like it I won't have a spoilt dinner.

I suppose you could try turnips instead. Or sweet potato.

I've heard sweet potatoes are an OK veg to have so I will be trying them. Thanks again Mark

Im ok with sweet potato but have to watch portion size. A bit too much will send my levels up.
