My daughter gets this, particularly in pregnancy. For me, they're an occasional 'naughty' treat due to their high sugar content so I never eat enough in one go for them to have that effect.

thanks lee lee

l didnt know grapes was high in sugar lve cut out all my sweets so l thought fruit would be ok dame this diabetes

Hi Rosie, I do eat grapes - just not whole bunches in a single sitting. Fruits that are lower carb include berries, apples, kiwi fruit. When my BG was less well controlled, I was told to only have 2 portions of fruit per day. Now that I've lost weight and improved my control, I have 3-4 per day without any ill effects.

sickley feeling

hi leelee ,sorry to ask lots of questions ,but l find l get hungry fast like l will have breakfast sandwich for lunch but when l leave work at 6 clock l get a very sickly feeling is this a hypo:confused:

It's very unlikely to be a hypo unless you're injecting insulin or taking one of the more potent drugs (sorry, can't remember what). I don't know what's making you feel poorly, but I wonder whether your lunch is sending your levels high and then they drop quite quickly. When there's a fast drop, you can get a 'false hypo', which means you get the symptoms without the very low BG. Are you looking at the total carbs in your meals (not just sugar)?

think your right

hi l think you mite have neiled it on the head after eating l do feel full of engie sorry for spelling,if l eat protine l feel full for longer if l have carbs ie bread l get hungry faster lm not on any tablets , so what can l do for false hypo bye the way thanks:(

If you reduce the carbs you have for lunch, things might improve. Here's an example of a daily menu that suits me:
- Breakfast: Mullerlight yogurt with sliced banana
- Snack 10am: 1 clementine
- Lunch: sandwich (2 slices from a wholemeal 400g small loaf or a Warburtons Thin with wholegrain) with 2-3 slices lean ham, Slim-a-soup (or other low calorie soup), Weightwatchers yogurt
- Snack 3pm: 1 small apple
- Dinner: Shepherds pie topped with cauli mash, green beans, carrots followed by sugar free jelly
- Snack 9pm: Cereal bar under 100 calories, cup of low calorie cocoa (e.g. Cadbury Highlights
