In surfing the net, I was reading an article which stated grapefruit can have an effect on some medications! I never knew this....So I wanted to post this today to let others know (If they didnt already). Apparently it can effect some medications for cholesterol, Blood pressure, antihistamines and some pain relief medication. It got me wondering, how many of us really read that patient information sheet that comes along with our medication, I know i dont always, and the times that I do the print is so small i have to get my magnifying glass out!

When I have had medicines where grapefruit is contra-indicated (just lacidipine now, but also a statin in the past), the pharmacy put the warning on the label quite clearly.
