Grantham cyclists keep it in the family as they prepare for 100km London ride

A bank manager and his son and a business owner and his daughter are all taking part in a challenging 100 mile bike ride from London in aid of charity.

HSBC manager Roger Graves and his son Chris are taking part in the second Prudential RideLondon2014 and raising funds for Bone Cancer Research Trust.

And Stewart Maher, owner of Maher Millard Construction, and Brittany Maher-Kirk, who works for Diabetes UK, are taking part in the event because Type 2 diabetes runs in the family.

The event takes place on Sunday, August 10, and is a 100 mile bike ride starting at the Queen Elizabeth Park (Olympic Stadium) and cotinuing through the closed streets of London and then out into the rolling hills of Surrey. Ater 70 miles riders take on the world famous Box Hill as used in the Olympics before returning back to the capital with the finish line in The Mall. A total of 24,000 cyclists are taking part.
