GPs: Behind Closed Doors, C5 8pm 05/10/16

Just noticed this is on shortly - blurb in guide says 'Dr Jackie Bulger wonders why a diabetic woman's insulin levels are so high'. Eh? Do they mean doses, or are they confusificating it with blood sugar levels?

Set to record, so I can FF to relevant bit at my leisure 🙂 And Bake Off is on t'other side 🙂

It was the patient herself who said that her "insulin" levels were all over the place when I think she probably meant blood sugars, she'd apparently had lots of 20s and a hypo just before she arrived. She then went on about how many "ml" of insulin she took 😱 think she might have meant units...
The lady was as thin as a rake, admitted that she wasn't eating much and also had depression, poor lady, not a good combination
Was referred to diabetic clinic. Doctor on this programme seems much more sympathetic and clued up than that annoying nurse at the surgery they were showing before!

I have just watched this thought GP was very good! I suspect the lady had an eating disorder and Diabetes!

I agree, the doctor sounded very understanding and knowledgeable. I hope the girl gets the help she needs, sounds like she was in a bit of a vicious circle with things.
