The government has failed to block the release of sections of former health secretary Andrew Lansley’s diaries in the court of appeal.

Journalist Simon Lewis made a request under the Freedom of Information Act to see passages of Lansley’s ministerial diary from 2010 and 2011, covering the period when controversial health reforms were being drawn up.

He was only given a heavily redacted version, but in 2013 the information commissioner, who oversees the legislation, ruled that the majority of the withheld information should be disclosed.

The government has since been challenging that decision through the information tribunals and the courts; but three appeal judges unanimously ruled on Wednesday in favour of disclosure.

One of the most far-reaching manifesto commitments they broke, among many others.:( At least now they are changing their manifesto on a daily basis...🙄

Aye. Strong? Not if Mrs May's performance under the perfectly polite questioning of Andrew Neill the other day is anything to go by. She was actually quivering inside - you could see it in her eyes. And her words were repeated soundbite gibberish. How will she cope under the onslaught of EU negotiators?

Stable? U-turn after U-turn.

It would be funny if the consequences weren't so serious.

It was a car crash interview 😱 Her answer that she didn't need to provide costings and revenue sources, because she would have a 'strong economy' ought to be completely unacceptable given the way they haul Labour over the coals. You may not agree with Labour's figures, but at least they made an effort. She also amost muttered under her breath that £10bn for the NHS would be capital borrowing, knowing that she has castigated Labour for promising to borrow to invest. It's a shame that people don't get more engaged and understand things a bit better. The number of voxpop interviews I have heard where people have been appalled by Tory policies, yet then say they will still vote for them is truly depressing :(

The u-turn on the manifasto is just another sign of uncertainty for Theresa May-be - remain/leave, no election/election, NI tax rises, no NI tax rises, etc. etc. 🙄

I have just read that the school breakfasts plan is hugely undercosted - no doubt another policy thought up overnight because it sounded good at the time 🙄
